McIntosh Timber Laminates Ltd have once again proven their ability to provide cost-effective Glulam solutions. When Ballarat University in Victoria, Australia wanted a purpose-built Riding Arena, McIntosh came up with a design and supply package from NZ that was more economical than other alternative options.
The 43m free spanning arches spaced at 8m centres cover an area 80m long. The pre-finished light weight timber arches arrived on site in three sections and were quickly assembled and erected.
Coming from selected quality NZ radiata pine this option provided a sustainable and renewable solution for the University. In a world where there is increasing pressure to consider environmental impact in the choice of construction materials McIntosh are achieving notable successes with Glulam.
